Floyd Mayweather Considering MMA

Oh that Mark Cuban is so crafty. If Floyd is a true fighter looking for the biggest challenge he might have found it in MMA. He would have to learn alot of new stuff. With his boxing skills I am sure he would do pretty good considering how great he is in stand up. There would be so many other changes he would have to get used to. Going down to 4oz gloves, kicking in the stand up not to mention the entire ground world he has not even been around. I think it would be great for the sport of MMA to get one of the best boxing guys and see how he does in MMA to truly show how dynamic our sport is. I know some of you might be saying they are two totally different sports and they are, however both of them involve fighting. Two guys at high skill levels trying to finish each other off.

“It’s definitely something he is interested in, and when Floyd makes his move,
obviously it’s going to be a mega event,” Ellerbe said. “We don’t have a
timetable. Floyd is taking some time off, but Floyd understands what is
involved. You have to take time to go out and understand what you’re getting
involved in, and he’s ready to do that.”

A few boxers, such as former heavyweight contenders Ray Mercer and Frans Botha, have attempted to compete in mixed martial arts with little success.

I welcome him along with other boxers to at least see what it is about. If Floyd Mayweather does actually start to compete in MMA it would go to show what a true fighter he is crossing over into a total different fighting style just so he can test himself.

“Floyd is about taking on challenges,” Ellerbe said. “This ain’t some kind of
prank. That is one of many things we’ve talked about with Mark. Floyd would have
to take time to really understand it, but it is most definitely something he is
interested in.”
